I didn't expect this from brands like LaCie. They are charging alot of money from this product which is not at all worth. They really need to improve their build quality. I scraped earlier 2 HDD of other makes because of carrying with me whenever I used to travel frequently. I love the shockproof orange colour flexible protection provided on all the four sides which additionally helps in desipating heat.

The most amazing thing is, we can partition this disk according to our need whether to work in windows platform or in Mac, Linux platform. Macos encryption enables safety of the data. I feel the product is pricey which includes duty fees.
But for some advantages like ruggedness, data protection, disk partition you might not feel about paying those extra bucks. The only disadvantage I found was, the USB connecting cable is slightly loosely attached to the drive, so it is necessary to keep the hard disk in a stable, immovable place. There was no reason for it to break as it is clearly a technical issue with the hard drive, as it has power but won't mount on any home screens.
When i tried to contact about warranty, which i have proof have signing up to, i was lead to a dead web page and un-contactable phone number. I hope amazon help me resolve this issue and get my hard drive back. Habe mir die LaCie Festplatte bestellt, da sie gerade im Angebot war und "nur" 15 Euro mehr gekostet hat als der Mitbewerb. Derzeit besitze ich auch mehrere externe Festplatten von Seagate und WD. Warum habe ich die LaCie gekauft? Weil ich mich von Youtubern und "Influencern" beeinflussen habe lassen.
Andere Fotografen und Content-Creators verwenden sie ja auch. Und weil ich mir dachte, dass ich den Schutz oranger Gummi rundherum vielleicht mal brauchen werde und so auch kein Case brauche. Das Orange ist viel greller - aber kein Problem.

Two failed for no apparent reason and the internal damage on one was so bad every last bit of data was unrecoverable.
One did not survive being dropped from a lower height than the manufacturers claim it will survive from, NOT rugged, NOT reliable. Somewhat disappointed this time around with a LaCie product. It has already had a major fail and had to be returned for replacement.
So now am waiting to find out how well Seagate's return procedure functions, something I would rather not know. Not sure if this happened because the USB plug came slightly unplugged and caused a fault of some kind. I have another LaCie Rugged Drive which was connected at the same time and that one, which I've had for more than 2.
As well as that, I knew I would be traveling around with the hard drive, so seeing it is drop crush and rain resistant is an added benefit. Fortunately, I am yet to have to test out these claims. Although the orange rubber is quite useful in that it stops the hard drive getting scratched or slipping. In terms of size, both physically and storage-wise, I would say it is pretty standard and similar to most other products. Another added benefit that I was pleased with was that it came with a month of Creative Cloud, giving me the opportunity to test out Photoshop and Lightroom.
Overall, I have been quite happy with the hard drive so far and had no issues.
